...time to wonder 'do i dare' and 'do i dare'
"An exhilarating white floral accented with Louisiana Magnolia and wrapped in the sensuality of vanilla-infused musk. Do you dare?"So says the package of my free sample of Britney Spears' perfume, Curious.
Do I dare? No, not so much.
See, a few days ago, I was ordering some facial cleanser from Sephora, because why go to the store when you can just go to the internet? Seriously. One of the cool things about shopping at Sephora.com is that you get to choose three free samples to go with your order. When I was looking over the selections that I could choose from, I noticed that Britney's perfume was one of my options. And was it really a choice?
Verily I say unto you: No, it was not.
Today my order arrived in its lovely black Sephora box, and I was excited, not because I was going to be getting my cleanser, but because hey, Curious by Britney Federline née Spears. COME ON. And besides, lately I've been experimenting with new fragrances, because I've been wearing Clinique Happy for six years or so, and I thought maybe it was time to branch out into something new. I found one perfume that I really, really like (via Sephora free sample, no less), but it is, of course, out of stock. So I'm shopping around until I find the perfect thing, or until I buckle and buy another bottle of Happy, whatever comes first.
Anyway, I retrieved the sample from the box, and I immediately put it on. Almost as immediately, my eyes started watering. This stuff is stronger than... something immensely strong. As I sit here typing and gasping for air, I think that perhaps this wouldn't be so bad if it didn't reek so much. I mean, what's there to be curious about? Everybody within a 50-mile radius of me knows that I'm wearing perfume BECAUSE THEY CAN SMELL ME. And I smell sort of like 50 old ladies in an elevator.
Not really what I'm going for, then.
